Since we are a global community and it is holiday time, please indicate a great vacation spot or deal from your country so maybe one day a member may visit.
I found my hoilday in Calgary and on to the Canadian rockies one of my best as a Canadian. I seen the Austrian alps but tip my hat to the Rockies, because although similar you get the sense of endless wonder and also the feeling that you are the first person there.
Also Niagara Falls near Toronto gets honorable mention.
Pass on your best spot in your country.

My personal favorite place is the highlands of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. great place to camp, very rugged, lots of whale watching, eagle watching, hundreds of bed and breakfasts and small inns. The Cabot trail is spectacular [unless you have a fear of narrow twisting roads and long drops to the ocean]. check out the Bras D'or lakes while on the island, take in a Ceilidh {kay - lee},house party with a lot of music and drinking for the uninitiated, there are a lot of ceilidh's held in fire halls and community centres. If you taste runs to traditional music..take a run through Judique and Mabou. If your looking for Scottish influence check out the Gaelic college. this part of Nova Scotia has held very tightly to our Scots and Acadian Roots [french] and its very evident in the small towns, the festivals and life in general. so come visit, eat lobster drink too much keiths [beer] and learn to appreciate fiddles and bagpipes as background music.. stay away from the moonshine your head will never be the same. And i've just been reminded to mention not to feed the bears and to uhhm watch where ya walk, theres lots of moose.

For the most of us Finns it's location you last night remember to have been before somebody stole your memory... and most likely it's not the place you wake up.

For me it has to be anyplace in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. I like Banff & Jasper National Parks but they're way too crowded with tourists. The lesser visited Yoho and Kootenay National Parks are just as nice with great views of the Rockies.

I used to mountain climb in the Alberta rockies quite often. My favorite vacation spot in this country since I was 6 years old has been Banff though...

Wow... what a question.
Having lived in Edmonton for 3 years; the Canadian Rockies, Lake Louise, Banff and Jasper are near and dear to my heart. I am longing to return for a visit.
But in my neck of the woods I would have to say Bon Echo Provincial Park. It is one of the best campgrounds I been to. With three great beaches, one with deep water swimming and one with an amazing long beach and miles of crystal clear water. ( the other beach is great too, but it is just a beach) Makes for great swimming. For the adventurous soles, you can also hike up the trails and climb Bon Echo rock or just take a peaceful boat ride on the mugwump.

There are lots here!
Cesky Krumlov, a small town in South Bohemia which is second only to Venice in terms of Unesco preserved sites. It is where I proposed to Mrs. Wide Asleep.
Slavonice, a sleepy town near the Austrian border with great hiking (ruined castles and villages) and a great atmosphere.
The great Czech "Vandr" or Wander which means just getting a sleeping bag and wandering in no particular direction stopping along the way in villages, lakes, pubs, etc.
What else? Cesky Raj. We have a cottage there. Also great hiking...
But being in the so-called Heart of Europe, I love making trips to surrounding cities like Budapest, Berlin, Paris (to a Czech it is a long way away, to a Canadian it is like when we used to drive from Regina to Lacombe to visit Grandma) and so on!

The whole area around Fort William in Scotland. Especially Glen Nevis and Glen Coe. The mountains aren't as high as they are in other parts of the world (highest is just over 1300 metres), but they are wonderfully shaped and their lack of height makes them more accessible. The Isle of Skye is quite wonderful, too. Graham.
