All this talk about hockey just makes me miss playing.

Nice enough looking cup, but how are you supposed to drink champagne out of it without breaking it? It's urethane, not glass. And, if I understand the article right, it sounds like the metal part comes out of the plastic shell......can anyone confirm that?

If there's an award for the ugliest hockey trophy, this World Cup trophy has won it hands down!

Apparently the outer shell was based on the Gehry-Tower in Hanover, Germany... Source: structurae.net / Photographer: Michael Lammert Here's the original Canada Cup trophy (1976-1991) Here's the 1996 World Cup Trophy Who designed the Canada Cup and 1996 World Cup trophies?

Have to admit, I love the design of the original Canada Cup trophy.
Nothing quite so striking as the angular half-Maple Leaf.
The Russians must have felt so proud to win it on Canada's home turf in 1981.

Maybe I am too conservative, but I donĀ“t like the new trophy. Neither the last one. The half maple is really nice.
Postmodernism, cubism, futurism, ....whatever. I like gothical style, renaissance, baroque. Michelangelo, Leonardo, Monet.... they were real artists. In this case, I am conservative. Probably I am too stupid to get the avangard styles. It just seems to me that more important is name of the author than the product. If I was Armani, I made a hat of camel excrements, people would be wondering how pretty it is, and the wealthiest would buy it.
