yeah, but does that really matter? I don't understand, what does that really have to do with anything? Who won in Nagano? that's six years ago,is that really relevant so much? We won last time at salt lake.So they only lost 2-1,they still lost. And what about Canada not playing well in the early games at the worlds this year? That does'nt mean anything, they ended up winning it all so who cares? What about the worlds this year.?I thought you said the fins always play with such talent , determination and heart. If that is true why did they collapse in overtime, the very time heart and determination has to come out but so obviously did'nt for the Fins in that important game. They played scared in that overtime, just let the canucks take the game to them and got dominated, thats not very indicative of fearlessness and grit.
I have seen teams from all the great hockey playing countries go through stretches where they played very badly. So the u.s did'nt play very well at Nagano, does that mean they have no talent or heart? Thats difficult to believe from a country that was able to gut out a win against a powerful soviet squad while playing with a bunch of collegians.According to your criteria no-team has any heart at all since national teams from all countries have terrible games where they perform badly.Sweden,Finland,Czechs,U.S,Russians,Slovaks, i've seen them all play bad games. As for your contention that Canada plays neither cleanly nor fairly there is nothing unfair/unclean/or unclear about a beautiful Dany Heatley slapshot over a Finnish goaltenders shoulder into the top corner. Sounds a bit like sour grapes to me. To prefer Finland hockey to Canadian is not a crime but when you say Finland has more heart, talent and grit than Canada that seems kind of odd to me considering the evidence.
I would think the argument you make probably has more to do with the fact that you are arguing with me then on any objectivity on your part which seems to be a bit missing in this case. you may not think much of me but just slagging Candian hockey because you are not crazy about me would seem a little bit uncool also.
