Even though I was hoping for the Canucks to win round one and the Flames sent them golfing.... I am throwing my support behind Calgary.
I am a loyal Canadian, what can I say? Plus Calgary is playing well ( on the road anyways) and seem determined. Who would have thought they would get this far?
Go Calgary GO!

After seeing how they played the Canucks, I figured Calgary would get by Detroit. I just don't see this team not winning the stanley cup. They were arguebly the toughest team to beat in the 2nd half of the season, along with the Lightning.
Now that I look back I think the Canucks played considerably well (even though I bitched about their performance right after the loss). It took OT of game 7 for their series to be decided. Which is pretty good without your top power forward and your 3rd string goalie playing 3 consecutive games to end the series.

actually, I don't really care who will win this year because the team I like is already out (Toronto). The dissapointment after the elimination was (is) too big for me to support another team. I'm just looking forward now because next year toronto has to win. I hope there isn't a big sell out in Toronto. Is there anyone who knows more about that?
thx Nico from Belgium

GO FLAMES GO! It´s about time the cup came home! ;D Sorry "Sundinfan" don´t have much info on the Leafs, living over here in Europe, but I think something has to happen there, just playing steady in the regular season and then dropping out early in the playoffs just ain´t enough... I think they should put a team together that harmonizes, nomatter what the guys names are instead of big names and "stars" who don´t work together see: Russia at the last few WM´s and Real Madrid in the Spanish Premier league of football I´m sure Sundinfan, that they´ll make the right decisions.. I´m sure someone back home has more info for ya!! Cheers from Switzerland and drink a "Leffe" for me

Galgary all the way. They have played well so far and having Kipper on their goal can´t hurt... But IMO, they deserve it. Those boys worked their butts off! GO Flames!

not caring since the Canucks left the stakes..but if anyone has a team they really really want to loose lemme know..every team i've backed this year has tanked, so if i throw my support behind them they will be done like dinner. even my 'Q' boys Gatineau blew last night in the memorial cup.

Do you mean selling off/trading away players? I think the bigger danger for the Leafs is players retiring....Niewendyk, Roberts, Francis, Leetch, and more could all be gone within the next year or two. Good thing they have Matt Stajan and a few other decent youngsters. I'm a Leafs fan, too, but I have to back Calgary since the Leafs are out, being a Canadian from the prairies.

Regehr for Fleury was also a good trade now. If they did not give up early on Brett Hull and Martin St. Louis, they could have more firepower on the offence. Kiprusoff trade was a big steal but I think even Sutter himself did not realize then how big an impact it had on the team.
