somewhere there must be a country where politicians are liked, respected, or at least given the benefit of the doubt.. Just don´t look on me, I´m from Slovakia...

Well in germany politicians have a reputation somewhere between a chickenthief and a massmurderer. Politicians are made responsible for everything. The mad-cow-desease must have developed in our parliamenthouse... ok there's no evidence, but it's the only credible explanation.
Gotta go to my neighbours garden and knock over some of his garden gnomes. Maybe I'll then feel better.

Yep, I had to go down and vote tonight also. Just pick one of the three choices. Moe, Larry or Curly or could it be Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest. I live in western Canada where the vote doesn't count anyway.

Green Party didn't do so bad, they received half a million in popular votes. I personally voted NDP for the Saskatoon-Rosetown-Biggar riding. Unfortunately after a tight race the conservatives ran off with most of the votes in the Rosetown/Biggar area and the conservatives held onto their seat. I'm truely happy that Paul Martin is still our PM instead of Stephen Harper and his 51st state policies.

roots: You only had three options? What riding are you in? I was happy to see the minority government result. Especially a Lib-NDP one. Definitely the two lesser of the three major evils (except for the provincial Liberals in B.C., of course). But I was very disappointed to see the Saskatchewan results. Who's happy for Ken Dryden? Maybe he can get the leafs a cup now!

Gurj, well being a "red neck" from Alberta, I still think we should seperate. That way King Ralph could rule us all? I was hoping for a different result. Just darned tired of the Liberals and their "do as we please" ways.

aj..i had a colourful choice of 6 to choose from.. i meant the 3 most likely to ruin i mean rule the country. dont even start me on Dryden.
ssshhhh there will be none of that seperation talk..unless we can seperate ontario from the rest of us? you notice we all suffer from the 'our votes dont count syndrome' atlantic canada is marginal, quebec is insular, the west feels ignored..i love this country

That's what I always said......if Quebec separated, what's to stop the rest of the country from splitting up? We'd end up with four countries.....Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes, and the West. Have they announced who'll form the minority gov't yet? As far as I can tell, it'll be Lib/NDP/independent, if they can get him to join, or else it'll be Lib/Bloc, which would be very interesting indeed (though I like the idea of the first one better). roots, are you counting the NDP as one of the three evils? I don't think they'd ruin the country, except in the minds of all those "I don't want to pay taxes, but I still want free education and health care and everything else" people.

ssshhhh there will be none of that seperation talk..unless we can seperate ontario from the rest of us? Seperate from Ontario?? Just because we house a lot of crooks and politicians . Is that a good enough reason to desert us? Although.. one could say that they are one in the same, the crooks and politicians that is!
