Just finished "A Hat Full of Sky" by Terry Pratchett. Technically, it's a children's book in the same way that Harry Potter is a children's book, but he's an author that I absoultely love.
Currently half-way through Paul Theroux's "The Great Railway Bazaar".
Have recently read "Bravemouth", Pamela Stephenson's second book about the comedian Billy Connolly, "Love All the People" and a book containing scripts and letters by the excellent and taken-from-us-too-soon Bill Hicks.

Hmmm.... I've been restless & unable to concentrate the last few years. Haven't finished an entire book for a long time. Me thinks I'll cut down on the TV & internet from now on so I can get back to do some serious reading....

I am reading Undaunted Courage by Stephen E. Ambrose about Meriwether Lewis and his trek across America.
I am also in the middle of Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson which is all about cryptology from WWII to the present and lots of conspiracy theories.
I just finished two autobiographies: Cash by the late great Johnny Cash and Grapes by the not late, not-so-great Don Cherry. I caught a few gaffes in the Cherry book (like when he talks about the 1972 Canada Cup!). But the Cash book is excellent, whether you like his music or not.

Nowadays I prefer Finnish litterature. I do not know their names in English, if they are even been translated. Historic books considering politics and WWII. Previous I read much science fiction, Asimov, Clarke....

Some pieces are. The Unknown Soldier for example. Which is a great piece to start with if one of you out there is interested in Finnish literature. (And even for those of you who aren't. Find it. Read it. It's a masterpiece, trust me.)
I can't say, but some of you may have read Sinuhe, which is probably the most popular book written by a Finn outside Finland. (That or Kalevala, difficult to say).

I'm currently reading Stephen Hawking's "The universum in the nutshell". Quite confusing, despite the fact that I'm a nuclear professional. Anyway, it's an other sort of book and I can recommend it absolutely.

The last books I have read: after five years of university and lots of compulsory English and American literature I have reread all the Harry Potter books. I sooooooo needed that!

Reading two and have several more I'm anxious to read:
Currently Reading "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire (Broadway musical based on this book) "Father Joe: The Man Who Saved My Soul"by Tony Hendra
Just Bought "Shadow of the Hegemon"by Orson Scott Card (I'm not a Sci Fi buff but I loved the Ender's Game, Xenocide series)
"An Army At Dawn: The War in North Africa" by Rick Atkinson
