IIHF president Rene Fasel is in Moscow right now. He will have talks with the Russian Hockey Federation about the new agreement between the NHL and IIHF and how Russia will fit into it.
Rene Fasel also touched on the problems of Russian hockey where many high profile players are refusing to play for the National team at this summer's World Cup. "You are a special country - you could have had three teams but you lack harmony. I think the NHL players should always remember where they were born and play for their National team without second thought."
Fasel also said he was sad when he spoke to Nikolai Khabibulin and found out about Nikolai's decision not to play for team Russia.
