Hey NyQuil.. I've always heard 4.975 Million for Game 7 of the Vancouver Canucks - NY Rangers Stanley Cup Final, not 3 million. Also, I've read just over 10 million for the 2002 Olympic Final - and this number does not include the ones who watched the game in bars and the numerous arenas around the country (I think there were 10,000 watching in GM Place here in Vancouver alone). I think that if it were possible to somehow add up total viewership in the bars and arena (plus those watching at home in groups (I had 8 buddy's over for the game)) I can easily imagine the numbers topping 15 million (almost half the country!).

Gurj: I guess the numbers themselves aren't all that useful except in comparison with each other. Even then, I doubt that the WC final in 2003 was watched in bars the way the SC Game 7 final or SLC 2002 OG was. I watched it in the comfort of my own home

"Tampa police Capt. Bob Guidara said there were an estimated 20,000 along the parade route, and 13,000 inside the forum." Wow, HUGE turnout.

Hey NyQuil! Only problem with the viewership numbers of the WCs is that (as EveB pointed out) the games are usually in the morning here. Not sure how many bars are open a 9:30am-ish on a Sunday
