Not stupid enough to lose a whole season, but stupid enough to drag it as long as possible. Jan 2005...

I'm thinking late December, a Christmas present if you will.

I have always been an optimisitic sole or maybe it could just be very wishful thinking but I am the lone vote for "Oct 2004 (On Time)"
I agree with roots, Both sides love the money too much to let it drag on.

I love all of your optimistic souls But I suspect we are in for a long and ugly NHL-less nuclear winter. I am guessing they will get back to playing around the end of 2005.

Hopefully January of 2005. Me thinks it'll be like the last labour dispute. They'll come to their senses after half the season is wasted.

Another optimist here. I hope I´ll see all slovak NHLers whole season playing home. And the another season as well...

Well, I'm the consummate pessimist but I'm voting for Dec 2004. I figure the owners can hold out virtually forever but the players will start getting restless in early December and start pushing for some resolution.

My vote was december. I think this "status quo" is bad for both sides. So the season will not be lost, only postponed. The players want to earn money, the supporters want to enjoy the game, the owners want advertisements. That's it. Time will say it is an optimism or realism.

I guess that the dispute will be solved shortly before Christmas and the regular season will start Mid-January 2005. Just as wild-ass guess.

From the first hand: L. Nagy (Phoenix) "No sooner than half of december..."
