The pens today signed Mark Recchi from the Flyers.
Expected, seeing as Recchi and his family have a house in the Pittsburgh area.
Sounds like a good move for the pens, they desperately need a veteran to play with Mario and Recchi could fit the bill.
Mark should be able to give some good leadership to a very young team with a (in every way but financially) very bright future.

Yes, Mark Recchi's wife is from Pittsburgh, so I'm sure that had some say in the choice of cities he had.... Maken, welcome to the gang!

I heard he's looking forward to moving to Winnipeg.

Recchi is a steal, even if he is getting on in years.
His style of play translates smoothly as he gets older, and he'll produce a point-a-game wherever he goes, IMO.
Re-unite him with Lemieux, and you have some interesting possibilities.
Will Malone play with them? Or Morozov? Pittsburgh is already looking more competitive this year, particularly since they gave a lot of young guys some good ice time last year, like Orpik, Jackman, and a few others. (Koltsov?)
