Hi everyone! I am Tampa Lightning, and I just wanted to say hi to everybody out there. I have been avidly following the 2004 IHWC. I am a huge fan of international hockey. Everywhere from Chile to Mongolia (see eurohockey.net), and of course more traditional countries. This looks like a great site with nice folks who care about hockey.

Hi everybody! I´m new here and would like to be a member. I hope I´m welcome Hi diddi, I just happened to see your discussion with Balder today on the Swedish forum at ihwc.net. With such eagerness to participate I am sure that you are very welcome.

Hi Diddi, we are very happy to see you here. And of course, you're welcome. On the Swedish board, I even posted a special invitation for you, lind and morninglord, didn't I?

P.s., on the Swedish board you asked about the difference between being a member and a mere registered user. The difference is not great. If someone wants to post on our board, he/she has to register.
However, we are attempting to do things a bit different here. Our group has existed for three years now. The fact that the group used to be small provided us with an opportunity to get to know each other better. Some members from the group have actually met each other in real life (for instance during the WC in Prague).
We don't like a two-track membership (membership of the board and membership of the gang). On the other hand, we want to preserve that personal touch which have characterized our group. That's why we have decided to make a distinction. Obviously, noone has to pass any tests to get into our group. The only thing we ask is that new users show respect for other countries hockey cultures and state-of-play. IHG, formerly known as "f=5 global gang" was after all a counter-response to the trolls and flamers of the IHWC.board.
btw, the member lounge will only be open for IHG members after I have rearranged the board (will happen shortly).

Howdy everybody! A big hello from a canuck living in Switzerland!I spent the last week looking into the pages of the IIHF to see what people were saying, i found it pretty cool and added some comments myself under the name "Degersheimer mafia" I tried to use the same name here but wasn´t able to, maybe because of mafia ,what the heck no big problem, i´ll have to explain that oneday,it has to do with hockey. Well to make a long story short,i wrote a mail on everey page seeing if people wanted to keep up contact, and behold i was recommanded by a bunch of people to check out you guys, and here i am, and being an ex hockey player, id like to ask if i can join your "gang" Well time to hit the road.. have yourselves a great night..

Thanks, DanCan, for the welcome! TB vs. Fla. would have to have been more important than Disney. :-) But going along with the family is important, I know. I have actually never been to a Lightning game (they are five hours away) but would love to go sometime.
I feel honored to be the first from Florida on here. I actually grew up in Iowa, which is where I played and got interested in hockey. Being a rabid geography fan, it would seem that international hockey is the joining of two interests for me.

Hello to everybody or "Terve kaikille" as we say in Finland. I also found this page via link on IHWC board and I joined in. On IHWC board my user name was Hetunen-Kapanen-Pärssinen, but shorted version HKP is maybe better here. As a first impression I must say that discussion here really is nice. No insulting or anything, just hockey talk with smile on your face. I don`t know is here some place where you can ask questions about how things work in here. I myself don`t know how can I put my on picture as an personalized picture. So if some one can help me, I am pleased.

Welcome HPK,
if you want to insert a personalized picture then click profile (at the top of the board), scroll down to "personalized picture", click the box: "I have my own picture" and hotlink you picture in the box to the right.
If you have any problems doing this, then post the link to the picture here, and I will add it to your profile.

Howdy.
Another IHWC pest found his way here, actually I think I was I invited by some fellow called Gurj, though I have no idea what did he see in me.
Anyhoo, here I am, another hockey freak from Finland. This board sure looks nice.
