Hey Guys! Glad to be here, glad to be a part of the gang! I´m from Berlin / Germany and a good friend of Sven. We both spent already so much money for hockey all over the world that we can afford a minor league team. So let´s have fun and a great time! Hockey rules! The KING

Sven and KINGofPRUSSIA, Do you belong to the German 'convoy' of camping vans we sometimes see at the world championships? That is an effective and straightforward way to go to the world championships. I remember at the Division I Championships in Denmark in 1999. There were about 50 German camping vans parked right at the hockey arena and all of them ready to move on to the next arena. Nice show! It inspired some Danish hockey fans to do the same thing last year in Finland (And perhaps also this year in the Czech Republic, but me not there so did not see )

Thor yes, a lot of german fan take camping vans etc. to move to the host cities. it´s a kind of tradition, it´s cheap and perfect for alcoholic excesses Sven, me and other guys prefer Hotels. WC Div I 1999 in Denmark was my first WC ever. I stayed in a Bed & Breakfast Appartment in Odense. It was a great time. Danish girls rules!

Hi. I wasn't invited to join the site, but found it while lurking on the boards over at IIHF. I posted once or twice there, but got tired of sifting through trolls and racist messages. This board seems very respectful.
I live in Wisconsin, but originally from out East in the US. I follow the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL.
I have great respect for hockey all over the world and outside of the NHL I follow the SM-Liiga in Finland pulling for TPS.
I love to follow international hockey and the various tournaments.
I guess I'm asking to become a member of the gang.

Hey Brimsek! Welcome or Tervetuloa! It's cool that someone in US is following our SM-liiga! TSP played well in the finals, but we (=Kärpät) were better.. Cheers!

I have a good deal of family who came from Finland (long ago) and I have friends that live near Turku. Tough finals for TPS -- congrats though for Kärpät they did very well.

Hello Brimsek, just saw in the other thread, that you go for Adler Mannheim too Just because of Jochen Hecht playing for Buffalo or do you have additional "links" to Mannheim? It's my favourite club and was just a little astonished to read your comment

It's my favourite club and was just a little astonished to read your comment Hecht helps of course, but when I was in Germany a while back I met some Mannheim fans. We talked hockey and drank a few beers. It was summer though so I couldn't get to a game. I never got their addresses though so we didn't keep in touch. Hey -- Andy Roach!!

Yes, Andy Roach did such a good job in Prague, that we were a little bit worried if he would get any offer from North America We talked to Greg Poss - one of the coaches of Team USA in Prague and club coach of Nuremberg in the German League - after the stunning quarterfinal against CZE, and he loved to provocate these worries. Where did you meet this fans from Mannheim? Which year? If they drank more than 5 beer in an hour, there might be a chance that I know them

I met them in 1990 -- right before reunification (I'm old . I remember they were concerned how that would go. I don't mean they were being negative about it -- just talked about what a big step it was going to be. If they drank more than 5 beer in an hour, there might be a chance that I know them We kept a pretty good pace.
