This weekend, Canada's junior hockey championships will be decided. Next to the World Junior championships - the Memorial Cup could be the most difficult junior hockey tournament to win! Here's the website for those interested in the Memorial Cup championships: www.chl.ca/CHLMemorialCup04/home.htmlSaturday's semi-final game will feature Gatineau Olympiques (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion) vs Medicine Hat Tigers (Western Hockey League). The winner of this match will play Kelowna Rockets in the championship game on Sunday.

it was a good tournament..Even if Gatineau didn't win the cup..kelowna played really well congratulations.. but thats not whats bugging me..whats annoying is the lack of respect the teams from the Quebec league garner from the rest of Canada. there seems to be the opinion [fostered and embraced by Don Cherry] that some how the players are soft? the teams somehow are not the calibre of the OHL or WHL? a quote from Steve Regier of the Medicine Hat team 'the tendancy with a French team is that they play a little softer. they don't like to play a physical game. thats not like gatineau'.. Gatineau surprised him with their physical play? i live in 'Q' country so yes im biased but i also have the pleasure of watching the teams weekly during the season..good physical, precision , straight ahead hockey. And as a 'Q' fan i do not take anything away from the other leagues, when i get the chance to take in another leagues games i jump at it.but remember Alex Tanguay is a product of the 'Q' so is Brodeur, Giguere, Roy and Fleury..and many more to come including Sidney Crosby. I knew Cherry had an issue with anything outside of Ontario, I'm disappointed so many actually embrace his view. If i'm wrong i will be elated to accept it, in fact i would be thrilled on this occasion to be wrong. am i the only one who considers Don Cherry to be more comic relief then hockey guru? his rotten attitude towards the European players and French players ticks me off. Rant complete i feel much better thanks for being a captive audience.

Good old Justin Keller, former Saskatoon Blade. Luckly he went from a team that won 7 out of 72 games to a championship team. Is he still elidigible to play one more year in juniors, if so can we have him back?
