Yep, that's it. The Russian Hockey Federation homesite confirms the list.

I like the addition of Artem Chubarov....
Good 2-way player who will help with defensive situations, is great on the draw, and penalty killing.

Ahhhh! Yashin is on the roster so I guess that means Russia will not be winning the World Cup of Hockey!

They made me happy by choosing Kovalchuck on the team. Damn I hope Khabibulin isn´t as good as he was last night...

You can tell that we don't think very highly of A. Yashin here...

In my opinion Yashin and Sushinski.

No way would I consider giving any captaincy to Yashin. I think Kovalev warrants consideration, especially since his performance in this year's playoffs after the debacle in the Game 4 OT against Boston. I have new-found respect for the guy!

About Yashin, he's always been eager to play for team Russia. Although in NHL he's sometimes more interested in everything else but playing for his club it's different story in the national team. So I won't be suprised if he's the captain in the World Cup.

Terve EveB!
I agree that Yashin has usually played for Russia when called upon, but I think it should go to someone who shows a little more heart, and on a consistant basis.
I remember Alfredsson making an off the cuff comment one time that he'd like to rip-open Yashin's chest to see if anything was even there (ie a heart). Whenever Yashin pulled his usual antics in Ottawa, you could always see Alfredsson biting his lip when reporters came to ask him about Yashin....

I judge him and his value only in national team, NHL it is another story. If Yashin played so bad and without heart then why this all NHL clubs want him and still pay him such big money?

Hey Lukasz. I disagree with you completely.... I think you need to look at the entire picture, not just the National team. Yashin huge salary is a mistake, the GM for the NY Islanders has admitted as such - Yashin was paid by the owners for what he was supposed to bring to the team - not for what he had brought in the past.....And guess what, he has not delivered!! (In fact, the only reason he was given so much money was because the Islander's owners wanted to make a splash and create headlines). Also, I'll dispute one thing: You say all NHL clubs wanted him to play for them, that is not correct - most NHL clubs didn't want anything to do with Yashin. Even his teammates sick of him because he makes so much money and does not lead the team like he is supposed to. I've posted before about Daneil Alfredsson who absolutely hates Yashin. G.

------------------------------------------------------------------- They probably find the hammer and the sickle. He wants to get even with the capitalism's exploitation in professional sports for Mother Russia. He was just fascinated what Lenin said about capitalists were willing to sell ropes to revolutionaries even they know they might be hung with those ropes later. He should be named the team's captain, just for his patriotism.
It is just a joke. Sorry if it offends anybody
