The Red Wings have always been one of my favourite teams I'm sure that the trade will benefit both Detroit and Lang. Playing now for one the consistently highest scoring teams in the NHL, Lang should have a very good chance of winning the Art Ross Trophy. Besides, the move may also benefit Marrella's Marauders! In fact, I think she has secured the 'Jiggle Machine Award' now

Rangers finally dumping salaries ... it's about time! Sounds like they are finally making some moves that make business sense.

Yes, they finally decided to turn the lights off on Broadway! Who's next? Anyone for Lindros? Guess not! In a perfect world, this never would have happened. Anybody who is a Ranger or a Ranger fan obviously is disappointed, but to see the way the last seven years have unfolded, and to see this end with Brian being traded, I guess this is the bottoming out............................................................Mark Messier More on this: Fox Sports, 5 March, End of an Era for BlueshirtsNew York Post, 5 March, Era Ends with Deal for YouthNew York Times, 5 March, New Beginning for Leetch, Not for Rangersbtw, New Jersey has acquired Jan Hrdina from Phoenix (see 'trade center thread)

IHG Players likely to be traded before the deadline expires[/b]
Miroslav Satan - Pihinalle - Probably the most likely player to be traded. N.Y. Islanders seem to be in the front of the many teams that want to acquire Miro.
Martin Rucinsky - Midnight Raven - might be dealt -- to Dallas?
Valeri Bure - Gereagle - Florida's GM, Rick Dudley, said today that "there is a fair chance" Bure getting traded. New Jersey might be interested
Shawn McEachern - Jd - might be traded to New Jersey.
St. Louis' Doug Weight (Marrella) and Chris Pronger (Pihinalle) have also been rumoured to be on the block, but considering their heavy salaries (mio. 8.5 and mio. 9.5) I think we can rule them out.
Well, with O'Neill out of the picture, that's about it. But then again, we may be surprised!?

Rangers continue firesale[/b]
Philadelphia has acquired Vladimir Malakhov for prospect Rick Kozak and a 2nd round pick (2005).
Philadelphia might also be after de Vries or Poti. Over the weekend, Philly lost Pitkanen og Chris Therien to injury. Defensemen Desjardins, Seidenberg and Ragnarsson are also on the shelf because of injuries.
So far, Rangers have traded Nedved and Markkanen (Edmonton), Simon (Calgary), Kovalev (Montreal), Leetch (Toronto) and Malakhov (Philadelphia) as well as Carter (Washington -- for Jagr).

Bure traded to Dallas[/b]
Well, few hours after the Florida GM announced that Bure might be traded, he was in fact traded to Dallas.
Other interesting trades 8 March: Anson Carter has been dealt to Los Angeles and Matthew Barnaby to Colorado (see 'trade center' for full overview)
